National Fertility Awareness Week 2015

In support of National Fertility Awareness Week, which ran from Monday 2 – Sunday 8 November 2015, Herts & Essex Fertility Centre was once again very happy to take part in this year’s Embryo Challenge.

Set up by Infertility Network UK, the leading national infertility charity, the initiative challenges clinics across the UK and Europe to donate £5 for every embryo created during the week, and with the Centre’s lab producing 50 embryos, we are delighted to be able to make a donation for £250 which will help Infertility Network UK to continue to offer support to those affected by fertility problems.

Charity chief executive, Susan Seenan, said:  “The support from clinics is always quite incredible. How wonderful it is to see such a broad range of people all coming together to make this awareness week exceptional. It is because of this kind of support our charity is able give help to all those who need it.

“A simple message of #1in6 was used to help to communicate that 1-in-6 couples will face problems trying to conceive and every year the number of people who have to turn to some sort of assisted conception or IVF is increasing.

“Even if you don’t suffer from infertility yourself, chances are you will know someone who does.”
