Dr Lucy Richardson BSc PhD
Lucy’s career began with an illustrious First Class degree in Anatomy and Developmental Biology from University College London in 2003, receiving the highest degree mark for that year. She won a BBSRC studentship to study for her PhD in Embryology at The University of Cambridge’s Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute, where she investigated the origins of embryonic axis formation. One of her discoveries resulted in several scientific papers and presentations at national and international medical conferences. She continued her training at The Bridge Centre in London and at BMI Chelsfield Park Hospital, gaining her HFEA ICSI Licence and ACE Certificate. Lucy is registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council as a Clinical Scientist and has a keen interest in the development of methods to treat male factor infertility.
Lynne Glover MSc
Lynne, as a state registered Clinical Scientist, she gained her MSc in Human Reproductive Biology at Imperial College in London, has the ACE Certificate in Clinical Embryology and since 2005 has held her ICSI Practitioner Licence. She is co-author of a number of respected published embryology papers. Since joining in 2006, Lynne has helped hundreds of patients successfully start families at the Herts & Essex Fertility Centre.
Stephanie Engley BSc
Stephanie has been part of our Embryology team since February 2012 when she was employed as a Laboratory Technician. In 2013, she was promoted to Trainee Embryologist and has since attained the ACE Certificate in Clinical Embryology. Stephanie is our donor sperm co-ordinator; managing the clinic’s in-house sperm donor bank and helping patients find a suitable sperm donor. Stephanie graduated with a First Class Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Human Biology from Kingston University.
Abbie joined our administration team as an office junior in June 2015. Abbie left school with a very impressive14 GCSE’s, an A-level in science and a diploma in photography. Always smiling, Abbie started out at Herts & Essex working in every area of the office administration, from welcoming patients on arrival, preparing patient notes, booking appointments and efficiently answering your calls and general enquiries. Abbie very quickly progressed her role and now concentrates solely on the laboratory administration, seamlessly supporting the embryology team with the day-to-day laboratory administration tasks.
Najma graduated from Brunel University in 2008 with an Honours Degree in Medical Biology, specialising in Reproductive Biology. She began her career in assisted conception at IVF Hammersmith as a Laboratory Assistant, where her skills were quickly recognised resulting in a promotion to a Trainee Embryologist position. She furthered her career in 2014, moving to BMI Chelsfield Park Hospital where she attained the ACE Certificate in Clinical Embryology. She joined the team at Herts and Essex in 2017 where she has a key role in the management of our cryostorage facilities. Najma is an experienced HFEA licensed ICSI practitioner with an exemplary attention to detail.
